Feb. 8 - Villa Cofresi Hotel

“May you always have a shell in your pocket and sand in your shoes.” –Unknown

We were in Rincon for four nights. Our home for those nights was the Villa Cofresí Hotel. This was our resort stay on the trip and it was enjoyable. In 1965, Villa Cofresí became the first hotel in the area built right on the beach. It's been a favorite for tourists and locals since they opened. The spacious open-air lobby overlooking the ocean welcomes guests into the hotel.

A wonderful place to watch the sunset.
The Bohío Bar just steps from the beach and next to the pool is the best place to take in a sunset and try one of their specialty drinks. The bar has been serving up the “Pirate Special” in a fresh coconut since 1965. This unique drink is a mixture of several kinds of rum, coconut milk, and a hint of cinnamon (a lot of cinnamon). It was definitely not one of our favorites drinks, but we felt we had to give it a try.
Enjoying a “Pirate Special”. It makes for a great photo op.
Enjoying the company of friends while we wait for the sunset.
