Jan. 27 - Catching Up

“Live your life by a compass not a clock.” – Stephen Covey
Today I'm going to try and catch up. There are photos I wanted to share, but I just didn't have space for them in the earlier posts. We're enjoying our time in Dominical wandering around town, enjoying the coastal views and relaxing at our amazing house. We even went white water rafting, but more on that tomorrow. These pictures are mostly from Quepos.

We really enjoyed watching the monkeys from our patio in Quepos...they were so entertaining, but I think if we lived here we'd get tired of them taking everything that isn't nailed down.
Iguanas and lizards are everywhere...I don't think I'd like to find one of them on my porch in the morning.
Playa Maracas near Nahomi Park...just down the hill from our house and past the marina. It was just beautiful.
We had a great view of Pez Vela Marina and we enjoyed watching the fishing boats come and go...we especially enjoyed seeing Windstar arrive and one of the largest personal yachts we've ever seen.
El Avion Restaurant is built around an old C-123 Fairchild cargo plane. The plane was built in San Jose in the 1980s and the US government purchased it to be used by the Contras. This was all part of a bigger scandal that involved Oliver North and the illegal selling of arms of rebels in Nicaragua. The plane has been converted to a pub and a two level bar and restaurant. We enjoyed a cold beer and a snack here after a long day at Manuel Antonio Park. We had fun watching a sloth playing in a tree at eye level.
