“Travel opens your heart, broadens your mind and fills your life with stories to tell.” – Paula Bendfeldt

We’ve spent the last few days cruising through the small beautiful islands between Gananoque and Rockport, Ontario. So many wonderful places to anchor and swim...and such amazingly clear water.

One of the most interesting places we’ve explored is the International Rift. It’s a narrow deep cut that separates the Canadian Hill Island from the US Wellesley Island. The Thousand Islands Bridge crosses at this point. The water is coke bottle green and so clear you can see the bottom even in the deepest spots.
The Thousand Islands Bridge is actually three distinct bridges that hop across islands in the St. Lawrence River. The bridges include the U.S. Bridge, the International Rift Bridge and the Canadian Bridge.
The International Rift Bridge is the smallest of the three portions of the bridge system, but is also the actual international crossing. Some sources have claimed that this is the smallest international bridge around. The bridge was originally built in 1938.

Our anchor after spending two nights near Beaurivage Island...it took awhile to get the chain and anchor cleaned off.
Our anchorage near Collier Island on Tuesday night...each night we've had a little rain.

Our view on Wednesday night at our Grenadier Island anchorage.
We were wondering how these houses handled their waste...since they are built on a rock island. This is a pump out boat...it arrives at your private island and pumps out your holding tank. Just like we have on our boats...except much larger.
