"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in
its net of wonder forever."—Jacques Cousteau

Bon Secours Bay - Anchorage

We've been cruising the Florida waters for 123 days...and this morning we finally cruised into Alabama. The water around the Pensacola Inlet is beautiful, so clear and incredible colors of blue that look even better washing up on the pure white sand. Aww...if only we had a dinghy.

Just as you get to Gulf Shores and before you enter Mobile Bay is LuLu's. A restaurant owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister...it seems to be the place for cruises to stop for lunch. We also stopped on our way east in 2011. They have plenty of dock space and it is fun to take a break in our day and have a meal out. It's a large complex with lots of activities...sand to bury your toes in, volleyball, an obstacle course, a shop, a marina, a concert stage and of course food. We both had a Cheeseburger in Paradise...it really hit the spot. Our next stop was Bon Secours Bay, which is in the bottom eastern portion of Mobile Bay, not the best place to anchor, but it was our only choice with a north wind blowing. We'll cross Mobile Bay and the Mississippi Sound tomorrow and then on to the locks in New Orleans...we're getting closer!

Our beautiful sunset brought us a little more wind than we were planning on.
