Hog Point Cove - Anchorage

“It’s not about time, it’s about choices. How are you spending your choices?” – Beverly Adamo

The weather was so nice today that we decided it would be cool enough this evening for us to test out the anchor on Texas Pearl. After a beautiful day on the water, being entertained by dolphins most of the day, we dropped the hook in Hog Point Cove just south of Melbourne. There wasn't anything special about the anchorage except it gave us plenty of room if the anchor dragged. The anchor held on the first try and we had a nice breeze to keep us cool.

We have The Pearl equipped so everything runs on the inverter when we aren't plugged into electricity. We can cook, watch TV and turn on most of our lights. We found out tonight that Texas Pearl has a lot of work that needs to be done before she is quite as independent...the only lights that run on 12V are in the heads and the galley. The stove is electric and we don't have a grill yet, so all cooking has to be done while the generator is running. Even with some little inconveniences we had a wonderful evening on the boat enjoying a light breeze, the sunset, the view of the stars, watching a video sitting on the aft deck after dark and the complete silence except for the sound of the water slapping the haul of the boat. Life is good.

Today was all about the dolphins...there were five swimming with us at one time. So much fun to watch.
I'm not sure the video will work well, but the Youtube upload was awful.
