Last Day in Baltimore
Henderson's Wharf Marina
Today was our last day in Baltimore and it was a beautiful day. We had a strong front move through last night with rain, high winds and even some tornadoes in the area, but today was wonderful with temperatures in the high 70s. We started the day by going to the Fell's Point Farmers Market held in Broadway Square. In the late 1700s there was a farmers’ market in Fell's Point at this same location. The farmers would come from miles and miles and they were assigned stall numbers, which were stamped into the curbs. The numbers are still visible today. Our second activity was riding our bikes to the supermarket...we wanted to fill our freezer before heading north. The rest of the day was spent getting things ready for our departure tomorrow morning...and enjoying this beautiful Saturday. We walked to Little Italy and had dinner at Amicci’s. Baltimore's Little Italy is a cozy neighborhood located in the heart of downtown, nestled between the Inner Harbor and historic Fells Point. It's an important cultural and ethnic icon for the city where millions of people visit annually to dine at its many restaurants, watch outdoor films, participate in bocce tournaments, attend festivals, worship at an Italian church, take Italian language classes or simply stroll through the friendly narrow streets to experience a bit of the flavor and ambiance of the old country. This area was settled in the early 20th century and generations later, many of Little Italy’s long skinny row homes are still owned by the original families and it remains a tight-knit community. We've enjoyed walking through Baltimore's old neighborhoods and seeing the 200+ year old buildings. Tomorrow we will head to Chesapeake City and then to New Jersey and New York.

Fell's Point - I almost lost my phone getting this picture...I dropped it and thought it feel in the water, but I was lucky and it landed on a ledge above the water.
