Day 59 - We Made It To The Keys
We left Little Shark River at 6:30 , a little before sunrise, with a ton of mosquitoes. The Gulf was flat and we wanted to take advantage of that, we were lucky again and had wonderful weather to cross Florida Bay to Marathon . Our trip was uneventful...saw a few turtles and dolphins and lots of beautiful water. The marina we are staying at is on the eastern side of Marathon in Boot Key Harbor . When we went under Seven Mile Bridge we left the Gulf of Mexico and entered the Atlantic .
I spent the afternoon catching up on laundry and Stan washed the salt off the boat. We did a little research on this area...trying to figure out what to see and do. We spent the evening listening to music from the marina's Dockside Bar & Grill and watching T.V.
Part of Seven Mile Bridge... separates the Gulf from the Atlantic
