"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in

May 4 - Marathon, FL

Day 59 - We Made It To The Keys
Sombrero Marina

We left Little Shark River at 6:30, a little before sunrise, with a ton of mosquitoes. The Gulf was flat and we wanted to take advantage of that, we were lucky again and had wonderful weather to cross Florida Bay to Marathon. Our trip was uneventful...saw a few turtles and dolphins and lots of beautiful water. The marina we are staying at is on the eastern side of Marathon in Boot Key Harbor. When we went under Seven Mile Bridge we left the Gulf of Mexico and entered the Atlantic.

I spent the afternoon catching up on laundry and Stan washed the salt off the boat. We did a little research on this area...trying to figure out what to see and do. We spent the evening listening to music from the marina's Dockside Bar & Grill and watching T.V.

Clear wonderful water...we saw several turtles, but no pictures
