Mar. 8 – Freeport, TX

Day 2 – Grey Uninteresting Day

There really isn’t much to report on today. It was cloudy most of the day…not that there was much to look at between Matagorda and Freeport.  Mostly low-lying grassland, at some points we could see the Gulf of Mexico. There were a few cows and very few birds. The only change in scenery as we approached Freeport was the addition of Chemical plants. This really isn’t the best area to cruise in, but it is the only way to get out of Texas

We did have another first today…our first swing bridge. You just radio the bridge tender and he opens the bridge for you.

Notice how close the ICW is to the Gulf of Mexico

  2. Glad to give you a virtual vacation...we could use someone to clean the boat now and then. We welcome any visitor along the way too.
