"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in
its net of wonder forever."—Jacques Cousteau

We're Having a Heat Wave
River Front Park

We decided to stay in Canajoharie one more day since the weather was so warm. Cruising isn't too bad when it's hot, but being down in the locks could be very uncomfortable. This is a great little town and our boats were already plugged in with the AC going...no reason to move today, we were just too comfortable here. I spent the morning catching up on paperwork, cleaning and laundry. Pam has a washer and dryer on her boat, so she let me do a load, it was very convenient. While I took care of housework Stan cleaned the yellow mustache off the bow of the boat, we look a lot better now.

After our work was done Pam and I rode our bikes back to the little piece of paradise we found yesterday. The guys were going to join us a little later. We weren't the only ones at the swimming hole today, but we only had a short time to enjoy the cool water, before we were chased out. It seems the mayor of the town thinks it’s too dangerous for people to use this creek, so the police run people out. The guys were just getting there when we had to leave, so sad because it's a wonderful place.

We spent the rest of the afternoon visiting with people along the dock, locals and other boaters. We met the guys at Jim's Irish Harbour for a beer later in the day...this little pub is a very colorful local place, but a lot of fun. We had dinner onboard and did a little research on the Niagara Falls area. We’re hoping to rent a car when we get to Brewerton and do a little sightseeing.
