"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in
its net of wonder forever."—Jacques Cousteau

May 15 - Key West, FL

Day 70 - More Visiting
Key West City Marina

Our plan today was...take Earline and Kenneth on a cruise of the harbor and then head back towards Marathon. As usual, plans don't always go as planned. We did get to take our guest out on the boat, but the winds and seas were too rough to be in open waters. It just would have been too uncomfortable and we are not in a hurry. It was kind of nice because it gave us more time to visit with Earline and Kenneth. They spent the afternoon exploring Key West on their own; we did a few things on the boat and then rode our bikes around town.

We all went to dinner at a local hangout called Hogfish Bar & Grill. They specialize in dishes made with hogfish. The meat is considered one of the finest eating due to its shellfish diet. It's a popular target for spear-fishermen and rarely caught by rod and reel method. Our meals were delicious. After dinner we went down to Mallory Square to see the sunset and take in all the festivities. It was a great evening, there were a few clouds and the temperature was perfect. It was an amazing sunset. Thanks Earline and Kenneth for coming to see us, we had a wonderful time.
