Mar. 11 - Lake Charles Area

Day 5 - Greetings from Louisiana
Calcasieu River - Anchorage
It was a beautiful day on the water...blue sky, nice temperature and no wind. We enjoyed a gorgeous sunrise, did a few chores on the boat and then headed out around 7:45. There was a lot of ship and barge traffic in Port Arthur.

The scenery is improving. It looked like we were in a river most of the day. Lots of people were out fishing and setting crab traps. We crossed into Louisiana around 11:00. We ran into more grass fires along the ICW, we drove through smoke for several miles. This was the only down side to our day. We are anchored in the Calcasieu River. We could take this river up to Lake Charles, but that isn't on our agenda for now.
