Downtown Marina Mooring Ball

“Let the sea breeze blow your hair, let the sunset bring tranquility to your heart, let the distant places you travel allow you to explore yourself.” —Somya Kedia

Today we woke up to drizzling rain but there was no wind, so it meant it was a good traveling day. We shoved off in our rain gear...after enjoying our free Krispy Kreme doughnuts provided by the marina. They taste so good and seem so light when you eat them, but a little later you feel like you have a lead weight sitting in your stomach. Good thing we decided against staying here for a week.

The rain didn't last long and by the time we were close to Hilton Head we had a sunnier day. Unfortunately by the time we picked up a mooring ball in Beaufort the clouds were back. Another cool front is on its way.

We took the dinghy ashore to settle up with the marina and meet some Internet friends this afternoon. We also got to meet several other nice couples that are just beginning their loop trip. They were all going out for dinner later, but we declined the invitation since we've only eaten onboard once since we've left Jacksonville. We just had to use up some of our fresh things and it was nice to have a quiet evening together. We look forward to seeing them again along the way and having more time to get to know them. Good luck to all of them during their Great Loop travels.

Every morning the marina in Thunderbolt deliveries these to your boat
A grey morning but some water
Clearing skies
Dinner tonight was some of my wonderful fried rice
The clouds cleared out by sunset and gave us a beautiful evening
