"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in
its net of wonder forever."—Jacques Cousteau

Donny’s Boat Rental & Marina

“When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused.” ― Rainer Maria Rilke

It seems like most people around here are waiting on the weather...of course some of us want less wind than others. Sailors still want some wind...just not gale force. Others like us would like it to stop blowing all together. In spite of the wind it was still a beautiful day, so we walked to Gillum Bay and wandered the beach finding more treasures. We then went into town for lunch. We finally found a place with reasonable prices on sandwiches and drinks. The Wrecking Tree must be a local place. We sat on the patio overlooking the water and enjoyed a hamburger and conch fritters for $6...not bad.

We spent the evening visiting with the couple on the mooring next to us. We exchanged stories of what we've seen in the Bahamas and talked about the weather. Weather is a big part of conversation when you live on a boat...it's something we hardly think about when we're at home. Meeting and making friends with boat people seems much easier than land based people. We just seem to have more common interests and want to learn from each other's experiences. It's something we truly miss when we are home.

The water is a little rougher today than it was a few days ago when we were here...but still beautiful.
