Sept. 6 - Kent Narrows, MD

Day 172 - Waiting on Weather
Piney Narrows Yacht Center

I kind of hate to mention our weather when so much of our home state of Texas needs rain and cooler weather. The stories and pictures we are seeing are heart breaking. The east coast is drowning while our wonderful state of Texas is burning up. We are stuck here in Kent Narrows until our weather improves. A cold front moved in last night with heavy winds and rain...we were very glad to be in a marina. It was cold and rainy all day; it reminded us of a winter day at home. As all Texans know...you have to make soup when the first real cold front comes in. I got out the slow cooker and we had the smell of Cheesey Corn Chowder filling the cabin all day.

Our big outing for the day was going to Safeway in a car. One of the ladies at the marina was running to the bank, so she let us tag along. It was nice to have a ride…we could pick up a few heavier items like potatoes and milk. We spent the rest of our day catching up on emails, reading, napping and watching it rain. The highlight of our day was delicious soap and biscuits for dinner.
