"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in
its net of wonder forever."—Jacques Cousteau

April 19 - St. Petersburg, FL

Day 44 - Sightseeing
St. Petersburg Municipal Marina

First thing this morning we took the St. Petersburg Trolley around the downtown loop to get an idea of where things were. The driver pointed out places of interest, such as the Vinoy Hotel, The Salvador Dali Museum, old churches and parks…and gave a little history of the area.  Once we were back at the marina we took the bikes off the boat and rode along the waterfront. Nice old homes along the bay and inlets.

After lunch…when it got a little warm for biking, we visited the Chihuly Collection. Dale Chihuly is a glass artist and his work is amazing. Later we relaxed in the park, enjoying a lazy afternoon.

Two of Chihuly's chandeliers. We have seen one of his chandeliers hanging in the Hilton Americas in Houston.
