Back to Familiar Waters
Henderson's Wharf Marina

We took our time getting ready to leave this morning. Stan walked over to the Bohemia Cafe & Bakery and brought back a couple of cinnamon rolls for breakfast. It was a beautiful cool morning and another wonderful day to be on the water. We've been back and forth through this area four times now...things are beginning to look very familiar. For those who have been following the blog for a while I'm sure you are having a little deja vu...we are too. It's hard to come up with new pictures and to be honest I didn't take many today.

We passed quite a few lighthouses from Chesapeake City to Baltimore: Turkey Point, Pooles Island, Craighill Channel Lower Rear, Craighill Channel Lower Front, Craighill Channel Upper Rear, Craighill Channel Upper Front, Fort Carroll, and Lazaretto Point. I worked very hard at getting the best shot last year. This year I just sat back and watched them go by! We also went by the spot where we were in August 2011 when we felt the earthquake and remembered we weren’t sure what had happened. My sister in-law called to ask if we had felt it…we did, but didn’t know what it was...we actually thought something might have been wrong with the boat.

This is our third trip into Baltimore. We really didn't get to enjoy the city on our first stay. We were too busy getting ready for Hurricane Irene, which luckily stayed further to the east. Last May we enjoyed our stay so much we thought we'd come back and spend a few weeks relaxing and catching up with friends. Coming back into Henderson's Wharf Marina felt like coming home. The staff and other boaters are very friendly and treated us like family when we arrived.

We took our dinghy over to Anchorage Marina this evening to visit with Ted and Sally on Amici. We haven’t seen them since Great Bridge last April. They spent the summer cruising their home waters around Connecticut and Rhode Island. A place we might like to visit next summer. It’s always fun catching up with friends and finding out what adventures they’ve had.
