"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in

April 7 – Steinhatchee, FL

Day 32 - The Crossing
River Haven Marina

We had a beautiful day to be in the Gulf…clear blue skies, little wind and small waves. The swells gave us a little rocking the first half of the trip, but that improved later in the day. The water was beautiful…turquoise blue. We saw lots of dolphins, flying fish and one turtle.

It was a long ten hour day and I am glad to have it behind us. We have an auto pilot on board…we call him Otto. He did most of the driving and as you can see from the picture below, the captain had a little time to relax. If anything happened to Otto we would definitely get him fixed right away.

We stopped in Steinhatchee for the night. The people at River Haven Marina were very nice and the accommodations were wonderful. We had dinner at The Fiddler's Restaurant...the food was great. Stan had ribs and said they were the best he’d ever had. I had fried shrimp and they were also delicious. This would be a nice little town to stay in for awhile, but we need to take advantage of the weather and move towards Tarpon Springs. We still have two days of open water. We have been gone a month and have traveled 1024 miles.

The water was really this color...no photo editing!
