June 2-5 Cayuga Lake Vacation

"The only rock I know that stays steady, the only institution I know that works, is the family." -Lee Iacocca

Summer has truly arrived and we had a great weekend at a house just a mile from the marina. It was a nice place to celebrate Brytanie and Graham's birthday and it put us close to all the things we like to do in Ithaca.

We spent time riding bikes on the great bike trails close to the marina, we took the boat up to the farmers market on Saturday, we had lunch at the Ithaca Beer Co. and spent a wonderful day at Stewart Park. The rest of our time was spent relaxing and playing at the house, which included lots of time on and in the water.
Pictures of the house we rented...this is quickly the scenery changes up here in the spring. The top picture was taken one month before the bottom photo.
This house was built on the cliff above the lake and had lots and lots of steps. We definitely got plenty of exercise while we were here.
The swim area at the house.
Stan and Graham arriving at the house in our little runabout.
The guys fixing hamburgers for dinner...nice view while cooking.
I truly love our view from the flybridge, but this view with my coffee in the morning was amazing.
Looking down from the deck at just part of the stairs leading to the lake.
Having fun on the deck.
Fun on the water.
Kids having fun.
Making cake and brownies for our birthday celebrations.
Our grandson is eight...where has the time gone?
The faces of our PA grands...they are a wonderful mixture of goofiness, smarts, love, artist ability and sassy attitude and they have a way of making life a great adventure.
Stan and Graham on their way back to our marina. We had a wonderful long weekend full of lots of great activities.
