Merry Christmas from Texas and the crew of The Pearl. 2013 was another great cruising season for us. We were blessed with good health and the opportunity to see more amazing places along the east coast. We returned to the boat in Charleston at the beginning of February and spent the spring enjoying the company of friends, doing boat projects and exploring that great city. Our first adventure of the summer was exploring New England, visiting some of it's famous summer hangouts like The Hampton's, Block Island, Newport, Martha's Vineyard, the Cape and Boston. We spent the rest of our summer in Maine enjoying the amazing weather and spectacular scenery and eating lobster…definitely a place we’d like to visit again. Our fall adventures began in New York City with a visit from our son Kyle and his wife Brytanie. What a great time it was…showing them the sights of New York Harbor from the deck of The Pearl. After the excitement of having family onboard we headed back to the Chesapeake and spent the remainder of September in Baltimore, catching up with friends and visiting some of our favorite places before heading south for the winter.
Our cruising adventures for the coming summer may take us on a different course. We have another grand wonder arriving in June and we love spending time with our precious granddaughter, so we plan on returning to Texas a little more frequently this summer. We're still planning on spending time on the east coast, but we think we may stay in places longer. We're not sure where those places will be yet, first Charleston, and then who knows…so many options.
Beautiful card, Susie! Love following your posts, they give me inspiration for places to visit and revisit! Congratulations on the upcoming new grandchild!! I am so jealous. Perhaps someday our travel paths will cross and we can catch up? I'd love to visit with you. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteGreat card. Enjoy reading about your adventures. My wife Nancy White and I met you in Ottawa and you showed us around the Pearl. That was it. We fell in love with the Monk. We started hunting and found an '86 hull #86 that we liked near Windsor. I was wondering if you two would mind answering a couple of questions about your experiences with a "vintage" vessel. BTW your feast looked delicious.
