July 12 - Block Island, RI

Great Salt Pond Mooring Field

No fog this morning...but it was still cloudy. The sun tried to come out all day, but just couldn't push the clouds away. We didn't let it keep us onboard. We went ashore after lunch and rode around the north end of the island. We stopped at the Block Island North Lighthouse, looked around and walked on the beach. Block Island is a beautiful place and we can understand why so many people spend their summers here. We spent the evening on Amici enjoying a shared meal and good conversation.

On our way to the lighthouse
Block Island North Lighthouse built in 1867
The north end of the island is a wildlife refuge and we saw a lot of seagulls and their babies. They really blend into the sand and ground coving.
Enjoying the beach and a little sunshine
