"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in
its net of wonder forever."—Jacques Cousteau

May 12 - Charleston, SC

Stan decided this morning our departure day from Charleston would be Monday morning. The weather looks nice for most of the week, with cooler temperatures the first half, so we need to get moving. We'll be anchoring out a lot between here and the Chesapeake and cooler nights are a good thing. I'm excited about getting back on the water, but at the same time it's hard to leave this amazing town. Everything you could ever need is so accessible here...great restaurants, great grocery stores, great shopping, great entertainment and wonderfully friendly people.

We spent our last day in Charleston enjoying the 43th annual Greek Festival put on by the Holy TrinityGreek Orthodox Church. The festival was full of authentic Greek food and pastries, folk dance, live music, a Bouturi wine tasting, craft vendors and church tours. We really enjoyed listening to the music of George Antonopoulos…he was amazing on the bouzouki. I should have taken a video of him…he had so much energy. After the festival we rode our bikes to the Water Front Park for one more look around town, and then stopped at the grocery store…it’s going to take a little time to get used to shopping on bikes again.
