Seal Bay – Anchorage

“Fantasy is hardly an escape from reality. It's a way of understanding it.”―Lloyd Alexander
The Internet is iffy in this area of Maine, so blog posts may be delayed. We had a long day Friday and went back to an anchorage we really liked the first time we were up this way. This time it wasn't as impressive. I'm not sure it was us, the timing of the tide or the crowd that was there, but it just didn't seem as pretty as the first time we were here, but we still enjoyed our evening.

We pulled into Seal Bay and there were four boats anchored where we were in 2013, so we went to the back of the bay. Just as we anchored we were joined by a small sailboat, but they were respectful and anchored a fair distance away. As soon as we were settled we dropped the dinghy and went exploring. I'm collecting lobster buoys and we found quite a few this evening.

After dinner while we were enjoying the sunset a large yacht entered the bay, which is a very large bay and anchored right next to us...unbelievable. There are hundreds of places to go in Maine and it can be very remote, but sometimes it can still be hard to get away from the crowd.
