Mar. 8 – Little Abaco Island

Angel Point - Anchorage

"I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination." —Jimmy Dean

We still had a windy travel day, but it was much better than yesterday. The sun was out and we could fully enjoy the colors of the beautiful Bahamian waters. Our anchorage tonight is wonderful. We are the only boat anchored just off a picturesque beach with palm trees…it really looks like a little piece of paradise. We spent the afternoon walking along the water and exploring the tide pools. We saw so many incredible things…large starfish, conchs, sea slugs, a stingray, some strange fish and sea urchins. We also found a lot of pretty shells and a few pieces of sea glass. Not too bad for our first real day in Abaco. We picked up several conchs and after quite a bit of work Stan even got one opened. We had it for an appetizer with dinner. We definitely need to find an easier way to get them open…if we only had the Internet!

The water is actually this color!
Our own private beach
A spiny sea urchin...camouflaged by a few shells
We think this is a fringelip flathead...but we're not sure.
A sea slug...we saw several of these
