Day 120 - Beautiful Day
Town Creek Marina

When we anchor for the night we have all our windows and blinds open, so it’s hard to sleep in once the sun comes up. We decided to take advantage of the situation and leave early since Saturdays are not a good day for traveling...too many boaters on the water. We had breakfast once we got underway. It was a good decision, because it put us in the Morehead City area before lunch. There is an outlet to the Atlantic here, so it was like a zoo…with boats coming and going everywhere. I’m sure it would only get worse as the day went on. We turned up the river towards Beaufort and things got better. We were docked at Town Creek Marina by 12:15. It was another nice day with the temperature in the mid 80s....we could really get used to this.

The marina is about a mile from the main waterfront, so we took the bikes and went exploring. There seemed to be several fishing tournaments going on, so things were quite busy. It’s a cute little town with lots of small shops and restaurants, but not as nice or as interesting as Beaufort, South Carolina. We spent an hour or so looking around and then went back to the marina. We really enjoyed Town Creek Marina, it has a nice restaurant and tiki bar...just steps from our boat. We really enjoyed the afternoon and evening here, getting to visit with other people and relaxing.
