April 3 - Carrabelle, FL

Day 28 - End of the Northern Gulf Coast Intracoastal Waterway
C Quarters Marina

We are docked in the cute little town of Carrabelle; it's as far east as we can go in the ICW. From here we have to make a decision...cut straight across the Gulf to Tarpon Springs or visit some of the small towns along Florida's Big Bend. Both mean we'll be traveling in the Gulf, so we'll have to wait on the weather. We need a fairly calm day so we don't get bounced around too much. At the moment the best day looks like Thursday.

Our morning started out with fog, so we got a later start than we had planned. We only had 27 miles to travel, so it really didn't matter too much. As we were waiting for the fog to lift, Stan spotted something in the harbor...three otters. If we had left on schedule we wouldn't have seen them. Sometimes unexpected changes can be a good thing.

One of the oyster boats we saw today (looks like hard work to me)
