Fundy Trail Parkway

“Life's a climb but the view is great.” - Miley Cyrus
Another one of our adventures on Thursday was to drive the Fundy Trail Parkway. It's a 6,323 acre park featuring a 19 mile paved road that hugs the southern coast of New Brunswick. It has stunning views of the world-renowned Bay of Fundy. The park has been carved out of the Fundy escarpment, one of the last remaining coastal wilderness areas between Florida and Labrador.

We were able to drive along the coastal cliffs, stopping at overlooks with amazing views. We also explored a few trails that took us to the beach and to a beautiful gorge, we walked across a 275 ft suspension footbridge that crosses the Big Salmon River and spent a little time at the visitors center learning about the rich history of this area that was once home to a thriving lumber industry. The Fundy Trail is part of two UNESCO designated sites: the Fundy Biosphere Reserve and Stonehammer Global Geopark.

Our first stop along the parkway was this pretty spot...a great place to have lunch and enjoy this amazing day.
Beaches here are very rocky

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Fiori's, which was right next door to our inn.
