Dancing on the Deck

Allan H. Treman State Marine Park

We've been so busy...I haven't had time to blog! Here's an update of a few of the things we've been up to this last week. Thursday's nights in Ithaca are music nights...there are free concerts everywhere. We decided to go to Six Mile Creek Vineyard to enjoy music on their deck, a bottle of their Serval Blanc and snacks from a food truck in the parking lot. A wonderful way to spend an evening after a day of rain.
This balloon landed in the park by the marina...I think the approaching storm made him look for a safe place to land.
On Friday we drove over to Skaneateles to see the Antique & Classic Boat Show. It didn't officially open till Saturday, so all the boats hadn't arrived when we were there, but we had fun looking at the ones that were there. Saturday we drove down to Pennsylvania to spend the weekend with our family.
There were a few old cars around too.
Friday night we met some friends from the marina at Buttonwood Grove Winery for their deck party. This is Melody, the wineries Scottish Highland cow...a New York Longhorn.
Buttonwood has a wonderful deck that overlooks their vineyard and Cayuga Lake. They produce classic European vinifera grapes including Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Riesling.  Vines planted more recently are Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Gewurztraminer.
The view for the evening...hard to beat this place
The Destination band setting up for the evening's entertainment. They were very good and easy to dance to.
Our wine tonight was their Dry Riesling - a delicious, crisp and dry riesling with an exceptional high, clean and lively acidity. Ideal for summer pairing with salads, fruits, seafood and light desserts. It went well with the cheese, crackers, sausage and bean salad we brought for dinner.
New friends from the marina
We had a great time dancing on the deck...we enjoyed the amazing view and the temperature was perfect. Thanks Jean for the video.

The benefits of being close to family...watching our grandkids grow...Cora is really changing, growing and learning so much.
Graham came back to the boat with us...we had to check out this little diner on the way back for a little ice cream and to watch the train go around and around the diner.
