April 5 - Manjack Cay

Manjack Cay South - Anchorage

“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.” ― Rachel Carson

Today we anchored in a cove on Munjack Cay. It's a popular anchorage, especially on a weekend. We heard they had a full moon party here last night and there were still 20 boats in the anchorage when we arrived. Even with all the boats there were plenty of places to explore in the dinghy and small beaches to enjoy without any company. We explored the southern end of Manjack plus Crab and Fiddler Cays. All three Cays are virtually uninhabited...recently a few homes have been built Manjack. While riding in the dinghy we spotted several eagle rays and turtles. They're easy to spot in the crystal clear water and a lot of fun to watch.

We spent the rest of the day relaxing on the boat, swimming, reading and working Sudoku puzzles. It wasn't a bad way to spend Easter Sunday, but being with our family would have been a lot better…even better if they could have been here. We really miss being home on days like today.

Exploring the beaches
A lot of the beaches have make shift camp grounds. This one had a grill, swings and lots of picnic tables. It could accommodate a pretty large get together.
