Most of the country woke up to freezing weather this morning. Even north Florida had temperatures in the 20s. Our temperature was 61ยบ with the wind blowing 20 MPH...I think I could get used to winter in the Keys. We had to give up time with our little grand wonders to get out of the cold wet weather of Texas, so this life isn't without it's sacrifices.
Stan braved the weather to play softball again today, while I stayed home and took advantage of the cooler weather to use our oven to bake cookies. We're both a little stiff from playing softball on Tuesday and can definitely tell we used muscles we haven't used in awhile. Hopefully that will get better the more we play. We should be in better shape when we leave Marathon…if we don’t get hurt!
This afternoon a couple from Texas, who have been following our blog since the beginning of our adventure, came by the boat for a visit. We had fun chatting with them and exchanging boat stories. Then we spent the evening at Dockside visiting with the crew from Room With A View. We met them last fall in Panama City on our way home on Texas Pearl. We had a great evening and hopefully will see them again soon. We're slowly settling into the laid back pace of island life.
Iggy came to visit with Sara and Larry this afternoon.
