Oct. 2 – Back in Jacksonville

Lamb’s Yacht Center

Wow...what a busy few days we've had. The Pearl is tied snuggly in her winter home at Harbortown Marina in Ft. Pierce. We arrived Wednesday, another pretty day until late afternoon when it got very warm...way too warm for the first day of October. By the time we got a pump out, filled with diesel and secured the lines in the slip we were completely soaked. I really enjoy cruising in cooler weather a whole lot better. There was a reason we left Texas and went north. Hopefully next year we can enjoy a cooler fall.

We spent the evening at Harbor Cove, an on site restaurant that overlooks the marina, enjoying cold beer, good food and a little entertainment. This morning Stan decided The Pearl was a little too snug in the slip we were assigned, so we moved across the fairway to a wider slip. Then we packed and loaded things into a rental car, closed up The Pearl and headed back to Jacksonville. We spent the afternoon unloading the rental car plus tons of stuff we had stored in our car...it takes a lot of work to set up a new home! By dinner time we were looking and feeling more like home. We're looking forward to tomorrow...our new deck furniture is being delivered and good friends are coming from Charleston to spend the weekend with us.

Our first slip - Plus a beautiful double rainbow
The Pearl's home for the next three months
