Blackburn Bay – Anchorage

"There are times when we stop, we sit still, we listen and breezes from a whole other world begin to whisper."―James Carroll

A front has moved through and though it was a little windy today the temperature was wonderful…nice to be comfortable for a change. The area past Fort Myers and around Pine Island Sound is a very busy place…even on a Thursday morning it was a zoo. Fishing boats, yachts, sailboats and tour boats going everywhere…sometimes passing three or four deep at a time in the channel. It was definitely not a relaxing way to start our day. We took advantage of the wonderful weather and anchored in a quiet little area north of Venice called Blackburn Bay. A beautiful area surrounded by nice homes and small little mangrove islands. A nice place to kayak and row…in fact we watched two sculling teams practicing this evening as the sun was setting.

Our morning view of Cape Coral
Jasper's Bait Camp...no need to go into shore when you can just stop on the water
Boat traffic on a Thursday morning...there were just as many boat behind us.
