Ashley Marina

“Being on a boat that's moving through the water, it's so clear. Everything falls into place in terms of what's important and what's not." —James Taylor

We woke to another beautiful day, but what a difference a day can make. Yesterday we were bundled up with scarfs, gloves, long johns and hats and even drove from the lower helm in the afternoon when the wind picked up. It felt so nice when we pulled into the marina yesterday and turned on the heater. But spring arrived today and by afternoon it was even warm enough on the water for me to wear shorts and go barefooted. It felt amazing to be able to soak in the warmth of the sun, even though we know winter will return next week. Before long summer will arrive and we'll be longing for a cool breeze.

It felt like coming home as we crossed Charleston Harbor and headed up the Ashley River to the Ashley Marina. Charleston is such a pretty city and seeing it from the water never seems to get old, especially on such a calm beautiful day. We were greeted at the dock by friends and spent the evening catching up with old friends and meeting a few new ones.

Our morning views in McClellanville
The pelicans were enjoying the beautiful day too.
I never get tired of this view...coming into Charleston is wonderful.
The dolphins were having a great time today playing in our wake and I was having a great time watching them.
