Sept. 3 - Waterford, NY

Friends
Canal Visitor Center Dock

Today we said goodbye to a few new friends we made here in Waterford and some we've known a little longer. Everyone has a different agenda...some are moving south for the winter and some are moving a little further east to store their boat until next spring. I missed saying goodbye to David and Barb on Memory Maker, but I hope they have a great trip back to Florida. Hopefully we'll run into all these friends somewhere again along the water.

Not long after our new friends departed our old friends Pam and Donny on Gallivant arrived. The locks were very crowded today and it took them quite awhile to come through the last five locks. I rode my bike up to the top of the flight locks so I could visit with Pam a little and take pictures of them coming down. It was great seeing them again. We had a lot of catching up to do.

Stan spent most of the day doing small projects on the boat...cleaning fenders, washing lock wall scum off the hull and cleaning the bottom of our dinghy. I ran a few errands and did a few loads of laundry. We spent the evening visiting with Pam and Donny. It was great to see them again. Hopefully we'll get to spend a little more time with them when we get back to the Chesapeake.
