Happy Mother’s Day
Annapolis City Mooring Field

What a wonderful Mother's Day...beautiful weather, two of our kids for company, a cruise on the Chesapeake, and great food. Life doesn't get much better. We woke up to a beautiful day and the city dock was just coming alive, a muscle car show on one side of Ego Alley and a farmers market on the other. We decided yesterday that we would cruise to Cantler's for lunch. Stan had Kyle plot our course and let him captain the boat for the day; it gave him a feel of what we do. He got a good look at what it's like to deal with weekend boaters, wakes and crab pots...he made a wonderful captain. Brytanie was in charge of handling the lines and she was amazing...a pro from all her practice growing up. When we get too old to do this for ourselves we know a good crew. We docked at the Canlter’s pier and enjoyed a sampling of some of their most popular items...steamed crabs, rockfish, lump crab cakes, calamari and key lime pie. Cantler's is definitely not a fancy place, but it's known for its extremely fresh seafood and everything we had was amazing.

Cantler's is located in Mill Creek, which is very calm compared to the Severn River and Spa Creek...there were boats everywhere. Sailboat races, fishing boats and cruises of all kinds taking advantage of the great weather. We took a mooring ball past the bridge and spent the rest of the afternoon soaking up the sunshine and watching weekend boaters enjoying their day. About 5:00 we dinghied the kids to shore so they could catch their flight home. We had a great weekend having them onboard. They were our first overnight guest and it was a lot of fun having them with us.
