Day 61 - Key West

We took the Lower Key Bus to Key West this morning. We took it all the way to the southernmost point of the continental US. From there we walked towards the main section of town enjoying the old architecture, neat shops and watching people. Later we walked along the historic seaport watching the boats and visiting with some of the local people about the area waters. We saw an old manatee near the dinghy dock, he had a lot of scars from boat propellers.

We spent the evening at Mallory Square. The sunset celebration is a tradition in Key West. People gather to watch the sun set and enjoy browsing through craft booths and watching the street performers. It's a lot of fun. We caught the bus just a few blocks from Mallory Square...got back to the boat around 10:30. It was a great way to spend the day, but very tiring.
