Spring in Rockport

Spring is in full bloom in south Texas...it's a wonderful time to enjoy everything Rockport and the surrounding area has to offer. The temperatures have been wonderful, the sunshine amazing and the winds a little higher than we like...but that's south Texas. You take the good with the bad.

Here's a look at a spring day in Rockport, Texas...a great time to enjoy the waterfront.
This is a view from our flybridge...it's a great place to fish...no real keepers this time, but a lot of fun for the kids and the blue herons love the hand outs.
This is our car...the birds were lining up for the free fish. The kids were catching them faster than the birds could eat them.

Rockport Harbor

It's a funny thing coming home. Nothing changes. Everything looks the same, feels the same, even smells the same. You realize what's changed is you." —F. Scott Fitzgerald

Our first week back in Texas was filled with sunshine, warm temperatures, the Texas Pearl and best of all family. The wind is still blowing like crazy in Florida and the Bahamas, so we are glad we made the decision to come home and catch up with family and friends.

Texas Pearl in her new permanent slip. I didn't like it at first, but it's growing on me.
We had the running gear cleaned before we headed out on a short cruise.
What a beautiful winter day.

We love the view from the back deck.
I love these pictures of Rockport taken by John Martell. He's a talented local photographer who has a shop in the historic area of Rockport. (looking south)

We spent a wonderful weekend with our oldest son and his family. We had fun with Graham at the children's museum in Austin called Thinkery.
Fun at a local farmers market in Austin. The day started out a little cloudy, but cleared up quickly.
Kyle and Brytanie have enjoyed Jester King Brewery for year, but this was our first visit...now we know why they enjoy it so much. A wonderful place to enjoy the day with great beer and wonderful pizza.
A few of our samplings
Only in Texas can you spend the day at a brewery and the whole family can have fun. This is a huge sand box for the children to play in and behind it is a pasture where people can play soccer, football or fly a kite.
Graham kept us entertained all the way home.
