The Power of Travel

"Travel brings power and love back to your life." - Rumi
A lot of people have a hard time leaving their comfort zone; they make up a million reasons why they should stay in their rut and not try something new. They say they don't have enough money, or they don't have enough time or they have no real interest in the activity anyway. One of the most challenging and enjoyable ways to leave your comfort zone is traveling.

When we travel, we leave behind the things we know…familiar places, food, culture and sometimes language. We throw ourselves into a foreign environment or activity that forces us to adapt, and surprisingly most people enjoy the opportunity to try new things once they step out of their comfort zone and take a chance.

Travel gives us a chance to take a break, to step out of our day-to-day routines. It's a breath of fresh air, a break from the familiarity of our everyday life. It’s an escape that allows us to access different parts of ourselves. Breaking out our familiar routine has a way of encouraging us to grow more creative…reminding us how to dream.

Being challenged is how we grow. Dealing with situations that make us uncomfortable teaches us how to deal with new challenges which makes us stronger than when we began.

Immersing our self in a different life (travel) forces us to breathe in a way that nothing else does. We make different friends, rediscover parts of our self that get lost at work and it reminds us how to laugh. Travel teaches us how to let go while holding onto things that matter.
