Downtown Marina Mooring Ball

“Smile, breathe, and go slowly.” —Thich Nhat Hanh

The sun returned today and we had temperatures in the low 70s...a perfect day to ride bikes and enjoy a festival. We took the Spanish Moss Bike Trail back to Port Royal to enjoy the Soft Shell Crab Festival. Neither of us are real fans of soft shell crabs, but we did enjoy some other good seafood for lunch.

Besides a great lunch we enjoyed looking at the classic cars on display, the art & craft booths, listening to music and watching people. We rode over to the Port Royal Marina and checked it out since we were in the area. We have friends that stop here on their way north and south and I can see why they like it. It's a very nice marina in a beautiful little neighborhood and is close to basic shopping.

The bike trip from Beaufort to Port Royal is about five miles plus the return trip and the extra exploring we did while we were there we did over 16 miles again today. I've heard people say they don't get enough exercise when they’re cruising...it's a statement I’ve never understood. Even the days we are cruising are filled with hundreds of steps up and down while we come and go from the stateroom, cabin and flybridge. We're definitely in better shape when we're on the boat.

Lots of people out enjoying the day and the festival
Neither of us had the soft shell crab, but this is what it looks like when it is fried up
This is my favorite kind of bike riding...what a great trail
