"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in
its net of wonder forever."—Jacques Cousteau

July 6 - Beaufort, SC

Day 110 - Travel Day
Factory Creek - Anchorage

Our day was uneventful...we traveled past beautiful homes on Hilton Head Island and then by two military bases. It was hazy today...smoke from fires in the area. It really made it hard to take a good photo...the only decent picture I took today was of our little feathered deck hand. (See photo below)

We anchored in Factory Creek; it is across the river from Beaufort and close to Lady's Island. Lady’s Island has grocery, drug, and hardware stores for provisioning while Beaufort is a historic town with quaint shops, nice restaurants, stately old homes and a waterfront park. We planned to do a little provisioning this afternoon, but there were storms in the area and we thought it would be better to stay with the boat. Plenty of dark clouds and a lot of thunder, but luckily we only had a light shower. Tomorrow we plan on going into Beaufort to do a little exploring.
