April 9 – Tarpon Springs, FL

Day 34 – Time to Play
The Landings at Tarpon Springs

We woke up to another beautiful day…we've been blessed with fabulous weather. Although it's getting a little hot, especially for this time of year. We had a very short run this morning, we just moved up the Anclote River to Tarpon Springs. It's a Greek community that still has boats that harvest sponges from the Gulf of Mexico. The sponge dock area is definitely a little touristy, but so cute and fun. We had lunch at a little Greek restaurant called Plaka…we both had a gyro which was very good.

We rented a car today, went to Wal-Mart for supplies and then stopped at a produce market and found a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables. Tomorrow we are driving to Crystal River to swim with the manatees.

  1. Hey Susie,
We were at the International Boat Show today in Corpus Christi. I saw a boat that looked just like the Pearl, but I couldn't talk Frank into buying it!! I'll just have to keep living vicariously through your blog! Thanks for all the great photos and information.
